This seems to be a useful summary of “The Hero’s Journey” popularised by Joseph Campbell and every movie ever.
It’s about Innocence transforming into Maturity.
Life (innocence) – call – initiation (love and suffering) – return with maturity (your work in the world is not done).
Seems like a good structure for a sermon or two.
Supervision (Interactional) Needs of the Four Styles
I’ve had this piece of paper tucked inside my bible for the last 20 years. It has been one of the most useful and helpful pieces of paper I’ve ever owned. It is NOT my work. In fact it was so long ago I can’t even remember who gave it to me or in what context it was given. If you know where it comes from please let me know. I’d love to read more from the author and will happily acknowledge their work.
It helps me (among other things) not only recognise the way that I most like to be supervised (and left alone) but it shows me that not everyone is the same as me, and just because one style of feedback or supervision works for me doesn’t mean it will work everyone (anyone?) else.
I looked for it on someone else’s website but couldn’t find it, so I’ve typed it up. and make it available here as a PDF.
