Is beating your friends fun?

So now I’m wracked with remorse.

Months of preparation (playing the game on my phone till I was so familiar with the cards that I could play the game watching the players) and study (reading rules and playing advice on the internet) so I could beat my friends in what was supposed to be a friendly game of cards.

And it worked. I beat them.

I guess the next stage in card-playing development is not just to be able to play the game well, but to be able to play it for fun.
